This summer skin salve is a combination of the plants that grow easily around me in our field, as well as my summer crop of calendula.
At this time of year the yarrow is flowering and the heady scent of the flower heads always reminds me of summer in our fields. We also have the largest greater plantain I have ever seen growing in our grazed meadows. All three are joyful plants that are safe to use on all skin types and are used for bites, stings, sunburn, rashes and other general summer skin ailments!
I added beeswax to the infused almond oil so it is a hard salve, easy to rub on a little amount or warm it a bit to dig in and get a bog blob for larger areas. It will need to be kept in a cool place.
Glass jars, 30ml and 60ml.
